Penneys SS2018 preview of women’s wear and accessoriesΒ

Yesterday morning I was privileged to attend the Penneys preview of their Spring Summer range and it’s fab! 


It was held in Penneys Head Office in Dublin and the place was jam packed with press. I managed to take a few pics.



















The collections are all well made and there’s a collection for everyone whether your into striped nautical, floral, denim, faux fur,faux suede or pleather. 

I snapped the collections and the feedback was people loved the Rugrats tee shirt, nod to the 90’s, sliders are staying and the cut off denim shorts. 

I’m always happy to see Spring Summer clothes just right when I’m sorting through my winter wardrobe so I see an end in sight and don’t get depressed by the dark mornings and driving home in the dark. 

So if you like what you see don’t forget to make a note of the items so you don’t forget them.

Penneys SS2018 men’s previewΒ

Taking inspiration from the sandy stretches to the streets of the city, Primark’s SS18 menswear collection is all about keeping it fresh. Our three distinct trends create the perfect mix for spring, taking you on a colour journey from the muted shades of Meadow Lab through to the deeper tones of End of the Road, with classic pops of colour being ever-present in Dog Town. Cool, sleek and urban – welcome to Primark SS18.

Creating a seamless transition from autumn into spring, Meadow Lab kicks off the new season. Inspired by a desert landscape, the neutral colour palette is comprised of earthy tones with soft touches of faded blues and burgundy, anchored by silver and beige. This combination of colours constructs a sense of freshly pressed yet timeworn outfits. Marble print tees and crisp shirts lay the foundation for this trend, whilst a layering of fine stripes and white denim all help to craft a relaxed and effortless aesthetic.

Dog Town creates that true spring feeling, with the introduction of brighter colours and metallic accents. A nod to its name, this trend has a street style edge, combining clean whites with pastel shades of pink, purple and yellow making a splash. Colour blocking is key to this trend, flawlessly blending athleisure and urban, with reflective and high-shine pieces. Key styles include acid wash denim, wide leg trousers and baseball jackets, whilst prints, slogans and collages create a youthful touch.

End of the Road leads us into the beginnings of high summer where holiday vibes are in full force in the form of neon, botanical prints and tie dye patterns. Tonal shades of coral, teal and boysenberry are three of the key colours taking centre stage. Stripes prevail but in more of a statement form, with warped graphics and ombre effects fashioning a psychedelic feel. A merge of Miami days and Shanghai nights, the satin bomber is the star of the show, with rip and repair denim, western shirts and peace symbols all making an appearance.

The SS18 collection is available from January to May 2018!

Lidl Ireland have a pop up shop on Grafton street where customers can pop in and try on the clothes and see the stock before the 1st range from Heidi Klum goes on sale @8am on Monday Morning. 

I popped in today after a launch I attended and was amazed by the range and quality. 


I know leopard print isn’t for everyone but I’ve always been partial to a bit of Leopard print and so I was pleasantly surprised. 


I have my eye on the black biker jacket €69.95 and I tried it on in size 14 the only size they had there but I’ll be getting it in a size 10 as the assistant in the store advised shoppers to go up a size. 

The brown suede €69.95 one is gorgeous too but I’ve learnt from past experience that I never wear it, black is just me. 

The range has tops from €12 trousers,jackets from €19.95 jumpsuits,hoodies,jeans,fine knit tops. It’s going to sell out as there is something for every woman, school run clothes,work wear right through to Christmassy sequinned jackets and leopard print trousers. 


The jeans again come up small so if you’re usually a 12 go for a 14. 


My advice is buy and keep your receipt and you can get a refund if they don’t fit when you’ve tried them on in the comfort of your own home.

PIPPA O’CONNOR TO HOST ARNOTTS SHOE GALLERY EVENT THIS SEPTEMBER

Arnotts will welcome top influencer Pippa O’Connor to the newly opened Arnotts Shoe Gallery this September to host a stylish shoe and fashion workshop and show for customers.

To celebrate the recent opening of the new Shoe Gallery, Ireland’s largest women’s footwear department, Arnotts has teamed up with Pippa to host a styling segment on Saturday, 2nd September 2017 at 12pm.

Speaking about the event, Pippa said: β€œI’m delighted to be hosting a shoe and fashion styling segment in the newly opened Shoe Gallery on First Level in Arnotts! Everyone knows I have a weakness for shoes so I’ll be spoilt for choice in the biggest shoe department in Ireland! And now that it’s right beside the womenswear department, I don’t have too far to go to pair up my shoes with the new AW17 collections!”

 

The styling segment will take place in the Shoe Gallery on First Level where Pippa will be showcasing her β€œmust have” shoes for the AW season, and styling them using pieces from her favourite brands from the AW17 womenswear collections in her own, signature Pippa style. Brands from the Shoe Gallery will include some of the newest additions by Jonak and Michael Kors, while Pippa will also be choosing from some of the newest brands in the womenswear department, including SET, Samsoe & Samsoe, Millie Mackintosh, Suncoo and Max & Co. 

 

Throughout the styling segment, Pippa will be talking through each of her chosen looks and sharing what she loves about the upcoming AW17 season.

I’ve had these in their box for ages now. When I saw them I just had to have them. As I wear black most days these will go with everything.

 I love the patent leather finish and the big laces and ribbons, giving a prettiness to the edgy shoe. 


I got mine in a size 6 as they didn’t have half sizes, I’m normally a 5& 1/2 but I will get insoles if I need them.

Grey Spring/Summer Boots

I’m loving these little boots I picked up in Penneys/Primark for €17. 


I’ve been looking for a grey pair and these are just the right heel height for daytime running around. 
I got mine in Penneys Mullingar last week!

What skin care regime do you use morning & evening?

I use Kiehl’s – I am a big fan. I use the midnight elixir oil at night (sparingly) and I use the Rose Artica lightweight cream daytime.

I don’t have a strict regime but I always take all my makeup off every night and try get a facial once every 6 weeks (its all I can squeeze in time wise I’m sure it should be more often than that!)

Do you use moisturise? If so what do you use?

As above on my face. I use a fab body oil from Sanctuary that you can get in boots on my skin otherwise.

Do you have a must have skin care item?

Probably the Rose Artica cream from Kiehl’s – my skin has never felt better.

What is your favourite beauty treatment?

Decleor facial in Glam beauty salon in Swords – I leave with a brand new face!

Favourite foundation?

Revlon Photoready – every time! It creates a flawless finish.

Favourite make up brand?

Varies depending on the item and product – I have no brand loyalties.

Can’t live without?

The liner marker pen by Bourjois

Love product?

Mac Bronzer powders

Leave product?

Blusher… the powder ones always break so half the time I use my lipstick as a cream blusher instead.

If you had €200 what skin care or make up would you purchase?

All the Kiehl’s products

Does make up change how you feel about yourself?

Not particularly; I feel as confident and empowered with no makeup on but I think there is a time and place for both bare face and made up face. I would never go to a meeting with no makeup on, but then again I would never go the the beach with a face of makeup either.

And lastly what’s your favourite make up look?

My personal preference is just a great base; glowing skin, nicely defined brows and some subtle highlighting.

The rest that follows varies from the bold lip, to a smoky eye – depends on my mood!
