Make up and sponge cleaner from Blank Canvas Cosmetics

This solid brush cleaner came to me before Christmas and I finally remembered to use it today to clean some of my brushes I used yesterday.

I was dubious about it to be honest but to be fair I was really impressed.

A lot of my brushes are white, goat hair , duo and white synthetic microfibre and I used to have to wash them several times to get them white again, not anymore as this solid brush cleaner had them sparkling after one or two goes depending on products used, oil based etc.

This amazing brush/sponge/beauty blender cleaner is €14.99 and available from

Ann-Marie X

Mini Harley Quinn of Suicide Squad, make up look.

This morning is Halloween dress up in school and my daughter wanted to be Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad the super hero cool chic! She hasn’t even seen the movie, she’s only 10 years old.

I ordered her costume from LITTLEWOODS IRELAND in size Large as Zara-Zöe (Z.Z.) is quite tall for her age.

The costume arrived and after fitting it on, it’s quite baggy, Z.Z. Is slim build but she loved it anyway. The only accessory she didn’t wear was the mask as she said it would only ruin the look 😍

Make up product list:

I started on the eyes using CATRICE Camouflage concealer (shade 010 porcelain) all over the lid & up to brow.

On the left eye I then patted on the vibrant pink eyeshadow from my SLEEK ACID 570 palette and added the darker Pink into the socket and blended up to the brow bone using BLANK CANVAS E26 brush.

On the right eye I patted on the shimmery blue frosted Eyeshadows from my SLEEK ACID 570 palette and added the darker Blue into the socket and blended up to the brow bone using MAC 217.

I lined the upper and lower lashes with MAC Feline Kohl pencil and smudged the line out with Corruption eyeshadow from my BLANK CANVAS COSMETICS MASTER SERIES ONE PALETTE using brush from MAC #143(pencil brush)

Pink eyeshadow was blended underneath the left lower lash line & blue underneath the right lower lash line.

CHANEL VITALUMIERE foundation was applied using BLANK CANVAS COSMETICS F20 brush and to set it I used BOURJOIS POUDRE de RIZ with my ANDIE NIMA BRUSH.

I then contoured Z.Z’s cheekbones, temples, nose and forehead using CHARLOTTE TILBURY FILMSTAR BRONZE & GLOW and my BLANK CANVAS COSMETICS F15 brush.

I used THE BALM MARY LOU MANIZER highlighter and SLEEK SOLSTICE PALETTE  with my TARA brush from NIMA BRUSH on cheekbones, brow bone, down the nose, on the Cupid’s bow and above brows to highlight and give some shimmer to the look.

I added some CHARLOTTE TILBURY Cheek to Chic blusher in Love is the drug to Z.Z’s cheeks using my BLAITHIN NIMA BRUSH.

Adding a black heart on the left cheek I used PENNEYS (PRIMARK) PS PRO Longwear graphic liner pen.

I wanted a deep red lip so I used INGLOT HD LIP TINT MATTE in shade #12 and I then lined the lips with PENNEYS (PRIMARK) PS PRO Longwear graphic liner pen.

I added some final highlight to Z.Z’s lips using PENNEYS PS… Strobe pencil in pearl to add dimension and accents to the lips.

I spritzed Z.Z. With MAKE UP REVOLUTION fixing spray.

Z.Z. Was delighted going off to school and I do love seeing all the children in fancy dress going to school, I can’t wait to see what the teachers are wearing when I pick her up from school today.

Happy Halloween everyone 👻🎃💋

Confetti Cover Shoot – Get the Look

Teodora Sutra is one of Ireland’s top models with 1StOption model management and I had the pleasure of making up her beautiful face for the Cover of  Confetti Magazine.

The Balm Cosmetics sponsored me for this shoot and sent me lots of amazing products.

For Teo I wanted her skin to be glowing and give her that highlight that everyone asks me for with a light natural smoky eye, fine liner and lashes to give eyes definition without looking too heavy. Fresh cheeks and lips and an overall romantic feel to the make up.

Here are a list of some key products which helped me achieve this look.

Skin:

I prepped Teo’s skin with Time Balm- Face Primer paying attention to the T-zone to help her foundation glide on and stay put under the studio lights.

I then used Light Time Balm foundation to give her skin a flawless finish using a tiny amount of Time Balm concealer to cover dark circles under the eyes.

Setting the foundation base with Sexy Mama anti-shine translucent powder.

Blush:

I applied some Cider, Crisp & Candy from my How about them Apples cheek and lip Palette and then some Hot Mama – a gorgeous peachy blush to Teo’s cheeks giving her a fresh flush to her cheeks.

Highlighting the cheek bones with Mary Lou Manizer and

Contouring with Bahama Mama.

Eyes:

I used my Nude Dude Volume 2 Palette to create the look and a mixture of Fabulous and Faithful to the eyelids and blended it out with Flawless and Feisty to give depth and definition. I then applied Funny and Fine to the socket line to intensify the eye and blended these under the lower lash line too to give the blown out smoky effect.

Schwing liner was applied to the upper lashline.

Lashes:

I curled Teo’s lashes and applied some Tall Dark and Handsome Black Mascara.

I then applied gorgeous 711 Lashes from BABYDOLL cosmetics.

Lips:

I customised lipstick for Teo’s look mixing Mai Billsbepaid and Ima Goodkisser

Product list for Confetti Magazine Cover Shoot

I have had so many mails asking me what products I used on the current cover of Confetti Magazine so I have detailed it all here for you.

I wanted to create a fresh, pretty, youthful and sophisticated make up look for the cover shoot with Grace. Here’s a product list and how I achieved it.

Face:

Her skin is perfection so I kept the foundation application light mixing Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow with her Magic Foundation, this gave Graces skin a glowy yet flawless finish.

Contouring: was light using light brush movements to avoid that harsh look.

Blush:
I chose Cheek to Chic “Love is the drug” from Charlotte Tilbury for the blusher as this gave her a pop of colour on her cheeks without it looking too rosy!

  Eyes:

I used the Sophisticate palette from Charlotte Tilbury and Champagne Diamonds eyeshadow pencil to give Graces eyes definition with a shimmer effect on the inner corner of the eyes to open them up.
 Edit

Liner was understated keeping product close to the top lashline and applying Charlotte Tilbury eye cheat to the waterline really opened the eyes up. Next I applied some mascara and some individual lashes with duo glue to add volume to lashes. Mascara was again added to blend lashes to individual ones & lighly applied to lower lashes.

Lips:
Lip Magic to prep and moisturise lips
Liner: Pink Venus lip cheat

Lipstick: colour of youth was applied to blend liner and give a flush of colour rather than a structured lip look, keeping it youthful and pretty.

All Charlotte Tilbury cosmetics and
Using Blank Canvas Cosmetics Brushes.

I used individual lashes from Penneys to add subtle volume to Grace’s lashes.

Cocoa Brown Golden Goddess oil was applied to any skin on show, this stuff really is amazing and smells gorgeous too.

Review: Master Series Palette One by Blank Canvas Cosmetics

Today I am reviewing one of my all time favourite make up palettes from Blank Canvas Cosmetics The Master Series Palette One.

This has quickly become a staple product in my kit for the last few months of using it and in my daily life as a make up artist. Most people ask me for a smoky look and the look requested can vary from Natural smoky to dramatic smoky and with this palette I can achieve all of the above and more.  The shades are Matte except for Goddess which is Frosted(Shimmer) and this can also be used as a highlighter on cheekbones, down the nose and to accentuate your Cupid’s bow.

Above I have swatched the palette on my forearm to show you the pigment without the use of a primer. The colours are highly pigmented and they blend so easily.

I have used this palette on every possible occasion it’s such a versatile palette with colours you will actually use and wear yourself.

I can’t pick my favourite colours as I’ve used them all and they all compliment each other.

If you’re like me in the mornings and are rushing to do the school run or have five minutes spare before you have to leave for work there are lots of “one colour eye look possibilities” in this palette.

Today I was rushing to get my daughter Zara-Zöe and her friend Holly to art camp and so I just quickly applied the shade Hibiscus with the E40 end of the brush on my lid and smudged it under my lower lashes with the tip of the brush. I then used the E41 end of the brush to blend the colour in to my socket line and blended out the colour under my lower lashes making sure nothing looked harsh and it was like a soft wash of colour.

Here’s the brush which comes with the palette and if your familiar with Blank Canvas Brushes you’ll know that the brush quality is great and this brush is no different.  Overall I give this palette the thumbs up and think any girl would be delighted to get one of these and would be a perfect gift idea.

The Master Series Palette One is €34.99 and available Here

*At time of publishing this blog, the Master Series Palette One is currently SOLD OUT but will be back in stock on 12th of May 2016!
