About Arthritis Ireland
Little things can make a big difference to a person with arthritis. Difficulty with the little things like making a cup of tea, getting dressed or opening the front door can all add up to have a big impact on a person’s quality of life. Arthritis Ireland understand this. That is why they are Ireland’s only organisation working single-mindedly to transform the experience of people living with arthritis and those who care for them.

Every day, they work
in communities across the country providing community-based education programmes to
help people effectively manage and control this devastating disease. They actively drive grassroots advocacy so that the voice of people with arthritis is heard and understood and work with the medical community to control and cure arthritis.
Eoghan O’Sullivan, General Manager Clarins, Ireland said: “We are delighted to be associated with Arthritis Ireland in bringing our global initiative to Ireland, an initiative which has deep roots in the fabric of the Clarins brand. The funds donated
to Arthritis Ireland will help contribute to vital research in the quest to find a cure, while helping to raise awareness and understanding of this disease. Clarins are very proud to be a part of this partnership with Arthritis Ireland.”
John Church, CEO Arthritis Ireland said: ‘‘We are thrilled to be working with such an iconic brand as Clarins, and I want to thank them for choosing to support Arthritis Ireland and help us in our work across Ireland. Thanks to great advancements
in medical treatment and complementary interventions like our Living Well with Arthritis self- management programme, the way people are living with arthritis is changing for the better. But there is still a huge amount of work to do before we achieve our vision of a world free from this hugely damaging disease.

Arthritis Ireland is here to help people take control of their disease while we invest in research to find new treatments and, ultimately, a cure. Our new partnership with Clarins will be instrumental in helping us achieve our vision.”

My March Skin Care Favourites

My skin has been so dry and dehydrated lately and I have been exfoliating 2-3 times a week to remove dead skin cells and replenish skin with oils and moisturisers.

Here are a list of products I have loved this month :
Burts Bees Lemon Poppy Seed Facial Cleanser:  I’ve been using this for a couple of years now so I have to include it. It’s so good when your skin is feeling tired and dry as it cleans and gently exfoliates removing surface dead skin but it’s gentle enough to use daily. The lemon scent is great for mornings too and I keep it in my shower and just rinse it off with a facecloth (flannel) when I’m in the shower, time saving when I’m stuck for time.

Clarins one step gentle exfoliating cleanser with orange extract:  I’ve had this ages and it’s definitely my favourite exfoliator. The tiny particles really get in to the skin and remove dry flaky skin. My skin is left fresh and shiny afterwards and I love the clean feeling it gives.

No.7 Beautiful Skin, Hot Cloth Cleanser:  I have been using this for a few months now morning and night(it’s all gone now) I use just one pump and it removes all my make up including mascara. I apply it to my face using circular motions and then hop into the shower and use a facecloth(flannel) or muslin cloth with warm water to gently remove all my make up and it leaves my skin feeling really soft. (I boil wash all my face cloths then and dry in dryer to get them nice and soft and fluffy).

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water:  This is a great little cleanser which removed everything but not Inglot gel liner. (This took a bit of scrubbing) which is not great around the gentle eye area. I use this with cotton discs and gently rub in circular motion to remove my make up.

Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil:   This oil was sent to me by Clarins ages ago and as you can see by the bottle I just love it. I use 4-5 drops rubbed in my hands and apply to whole face (avoiding eyes) and neck and let it soak in before I sleep at night. The fragrance is gorgeous and the oil leaves my skin glowing and soft the next morning when I wake, what’s not to love.

Check out my next blog which will feature my March Make Up Favourites 💋

Clarins Eyeshadow Palette

Clarins Have Just released an eyeshadow palette which will rival urban decay’s Naked Palette and I have to say I am so far very impressed.

Clarins Eyeshadow Palette - 01

I have used the Naked Palette so much I am on my 2nd one in my Kit.

Clarins description of the Palette “Beige, taupe and brown are featured in a harmony of 10 eye shadows which bring out the beauty of women’s eyes while supporting human rights and the environment.”

This palette was created as part of an initiative to minimise our environmental impact: it features carefully selected materials and reusable packaging.

In addition to beautifying eyes, Clarins has joined forces with Pur Projet and has committed to planting 10,000 trees for medical or cosmetic use, which will help revive the Kuntanawa culture (Amazon). – See more here

Does make up change how you feel about yourself?

Yes definitely although I don’t plaster myself I do think it makes you feel more confident. The key to make up is wearing it in a way that accentuates your features not wearing to much that it hide what’s underneath.

And lastly what’s your favourite make up look?

What skin care regime do you use morning & evening?
I use liz earls hot cloth face polish system, I only started using this product 3 months ago when I bought it at the Chelsea flower show but I love it! It’s an organic product and it smells amazing. I love the fact the muslin cloth system takes off all your make up and gently exfoliates your skin all in one go!
In the mornings I apply Olay regenerist 3 point super serum followed by Olay total effects 7 in one moisturiser with factor 15- it’s amazing!
I also use a Dermalogica anti aging eye cream.
In the evenings after cleansing I use Lumecin overnight Brightening Gluco treatment which helps with brown sun spots and the appearance of pore size.
Do you use moisturise? If so what do you use?
Olay total Effects 7 in one moisturiser with factor 15
Do you have a must have skin care item?
I am a big fan of face masks so every week I do Dermalogica multivitamin power recovery masque
What is your favourite beauty treatment ?
Jessica geleration manicures and pedicures at Ken Boylan Make up play. They only cost €25 for the manicure and it lasts 3 weeks so its excellent value and it really cheers me up having pretty nails!
Favourite foundation?
I don’t wear foundation I wear Clarins beauty flash balm with Rimmel match perfect concealer
Favourite make up brand?
Ken Boylan Make Up Play
Can’t live without?
Ken Boylan lipstick in Bambi
Love product?
Davines compact matifying primer- it’s a white powder compact that rids skin of shininess without any cakiness
Leave product?
Most of the high street BB creams- they are orange heavy and make skin way too shiny – they certainly don’t air brush skin as they promise!
If you had €200 what skin care or make up would you purchase?
Tom Ford make up I think the packaging is so luxe- it’s divine!
Does make up change how you feel about yourself?
Yes a strong red lip can totally transform the way you look and feel in an instant. If I feel rubbish and have no time to do my make up I will just apply red lippy and it always lifts my mood!
And lastly what’s your favourite make up look?
The natural look! I am big into eating healthily and that beauty comes from the inside out. you have to nourish your skin and body with wholesome natural foods if you want to have great skin. No amount of products can beat the effect of a “real” healthy glow!
